Message: At what age does it make sense to introduce a child to computers and educational software? My son is 18 months old and enjoys tapping on the keyboard.

Message: My six year old son regularly brings home pictures from school that have been produced on a computer. I realise that IT is the buzzword subject in most schools up and down the land. However, sometimes I feel it is at the cost of losing the traditional subject/skills such as drawing and painting. Maybe I am just a lonely voice stuck in the past...

Message: hi all,
First congrats for raising the good topic for discussion. There should be some age limit to Computer Education to children's because initially child should be first creative and good learner.IF we directly start with Computer Education, they need to understand complex architecture of system. But at this age they should work with painting and other hand craft work,Which simply enhance their creativity. So,according to my opinion Computer education should be after the age of 7yrs.
Thanks & Regards
Dilip

Message: Hello there,
Montessori believed that a childs education does not begin and end at school. If you feel that painting and drawing, which are important for developing hand eye coordination, pincer grip, fine motor skills, ect. you should offer these activities at home for at least 2 hours a week.
