Subject: Sleeping: Phenergan

Message:
A friend of mine told me that she was having a terrible time getting her two year old daughter to sleep through the night, as she is such a light sleeper that any noise disturbs her and once awake she takes ages to get back to sleep. Anyway she was told to use something called 'Phenergan' which is some kind of sedative that is used to break bad sleep problems.
Has anybody used this drug before, or has a view on it?

It's actually something prescribed for travel sickness! Not ideal as a long term solution, and I believe it can have other side effects too (but can't remember what!) but I know parents who have used it effectively in the short term to break bad sleep patterns
