Subject: Going Back To Work: Shared Responsibility
IP: Logged

Message:
This is one of life's great frustrations. As we still live in a male dominated world mothers will always feel guilty for leaving their children when going back to work. This is because they are considered to be a child's primary means of care. I can to a point accept this fact. But what often makes the situation impossible is that the domestic responsibilities are also not shared equally. This means that mothers have the responsibility for holding down two jobs - nanny and housekeeper.

This is true, but i think you mean 3 jobs if a mother is going out to work full-time also.
My daughter returned to work 6mts ago.Her job as a social worker means working some nights&weekends.when this is the case her husband who works 9-5 mon-fri.steps in as their babies main carer, becomes the house husband&main cook. They both work 40 hr wk but at different times or days,he has become a much better person for doing this Their baby is thriving,It works for them. Try it, men adapt if they have to,but the truth is many women don't trust men to do as good a job as them,
