Subject: Behavior: Throwing tantrums

Message:
My three year old son went through a phase of throwing himself on the floor in a rage about six months ago. I just used to let him get on with it, providing he wasn't harming himself. Although it was awkward in public places where the disapproving looks of other people made me feel uncomfortable. However his behaviour eventually changed and he is now a happy, loveable and generally reasonable child. I think it is all to do with his ability to communicate and once he was able to express himself more clearly he stopped getting so cross.

Well done, you did the right thing letting him get on with it. Now he knows he is not getting a reaction from you he has stopped.
This is always the best policy.
